Saskatchewan Branch

The Saskatchewan Branch of the Club Management Association of Canada was formed through the efforts of CMAC Members in 1990. Mr. Gerry Hulskorte, manager of the Wascana Country Club and Michael Cox, manager then of the Manitoba Club, were instrumental in setting up the Saskatchewan Branch which was derived out of the then combined Manitoba/Saskatchewan Branch. The Saskatchewan Branch recognized Mr. Hulskorte’s efforts by making him an Honourary Life Member of CMAC on his retirement from club management in 1992. Mr. Hulskorte remained involved with CMAC and Saskatchewan Branch until his passing on September 13, 2004 in the United Kingdom.

A member since 1978, Doreen Lusher was a pioneer in club management, being the first female club manager in the history of CMAC Saskatchewan and the Saskatoon Club, and one of only five nationally in Canada at that time. Doreen managed the Saskatoon Club for 12 years until she retired in 1988. Mrs. Lusher received her Honourary status in the fall of 1988 and was actively involved with CMAC Saskatchewan until she passed in September 2021.

Presently, the CMAC Saskatchewan Branch is made up of a university faculty club, and private and semi private golf clubs. The Branch recently hosted the 2022 National Food & Beverage Management Conference in Saskatoon!
