Saskatchewan Branch

The Saskatchewan Branch of the Club Management Association of Canada was formed through the efforts of CMAC Members in 1990. Mr. Gerry Hulskorte, manager of the Wascana Country Club and Michael Cox, manager then of the Manitoba Club, were instrumental in setting up the Saskatchewan Branch which was derived out of the then combined Manitoba/Saskatchewan Branch. The Saskatchewan Branch recognized Mr. Hulskorte’s efforts by making him an Honorary Life Member of CMAC on his retirement from club management in 1992. Mr. Hulskorte remained involved with CMAC and Saskatchewan Branch until his passing on September 13, 2004 in the United Kingdom.

Miss Doreen Lusher is Saskatchewan Branch’s only other Honorary Life Member. Miss Lusher managed the Saskatoon Club for 12 years until 1988 and retired in 1988. The Saskatoon Club was the last city club in Canada to become gender neutral the following year. She was the first female club manager in the history of CMAC Saskatchewan and the Saskatoon Club, and was one of only five nationally in Canada at that time. Mrs. Lusher received her Honorary status in the fall of 1988 and is still actively involved with CMAC Saskatchewan.

Presently, the CMAC Saskatchewan Branch is made up of a university faculty club, and private and semi private golf clubs and they recently hosted the National Food & Beverage Management Conference 2022 in Saskatoon!
