Dan Amador

Dan is the Director of Wholesale Partnerships at Rosso Coffee Roasters. 

After a decade in the Sports Nutrition & Natural Health Product industry coordinating the development and awareness of international brands in the Canadian market, Dan made the switch to coffee in early 2019 to challenge himself in a new industry and fuel his appreciation and admiration for coffee. He is passionate about cultivating long-lasting relationships with his partners and enjoys creating unique solutions to benefit each of them. 

In the last 4 years, he has committed to advocating for more sustainable coffee and continues to engage in education and meaningful conversations that showcase the intricacies and operations of coffee sourcing, roasting, owning/operating cafes and restaurants

 

     Sean Crump

Sean is a universal design and disability inclusion industry expert, while priding himself as a social entrepreneur using his voice, lived experience, and passion for building barrier-free communities. As Founder & CEO of Included by Design, Sean’s new focus is to create digital solutions and revolutionary accessibility tools focusing on creating equal opportunities for people living with disabilities. Providing full-time employment opportunities to people of all abilities, Included by Design ensures they “practice what they preach” by proudly exemplifying that 40% of their employees live with a significant long-term disability. Sean was recently named one of Calgary’s Top 40 under 40 for the work he is doing and his extensive community commitments. He currently sits on multiple boards and committees across Canada, while providing workshops and speaking at different engagements on accessibility and inclusion, most notably speaking about disability inclusion on his TEDx talk.

 

Umesh Diwaker

Chef Umesh Diwaker, born and raised in New Delhi, India, was inspired by his late mom's cooking at an early age. His passion for cooking continued to grow throughout his childhood and he was eager to learn more. After high school, Umesh started his journey to becoming a Chef by attending the Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology, one of India's top colleges. After, working for various 5-star hotels and resorts in India, Umesh moved to the United States and worked for a mega cruise line and then as an Executive Chef in South Asia with Aman, the luxurious Hotel and Resort chain. In 2012 Umesh immigrated to Toronto, where he worked at the Rogers Centre, Exhibition Place and Westin Harbour Castle Hotel, before entering the private club industry. He joined Scarboro Golf and Country Club as Sous Chef and was quickly promoted to Executive Sous Chef due to his innovative approach and invaluable experience. Umesh successfully upgraded the dining experience for both members and guests with his passion for food. Before taking his present role as Executive Chef at Ladies' Golf Club of Toronto, Umesh excelled in his position as Executive Chef of Jazz Bistro, a fine dining restaurant in Dundas Square.

Throughout his culinary journey, Chef Umesh has received many awards in recognition of the quality and presentation of his dishes. He has worked and collaborated with many celebrity and Michelin Star chefs, and world-renowned wine critic, Jancis Robinson. In 2019 Chef Umesh graduated from Dale Carnegie Professional Training and received the Highest Award of Achievement.

At Ladies' Golf Club of Toronto, Chef Umesh focuses on the farm-to-table style of cooking by using produce from his well-established herb & vegetable garden. He is very passionate about creating healthy dishes with great attention to detail. Chef Umesh's creations are specially designed to keep the flavors, textures, and presentation on a high note, from start to finish. Every dish from his kitchen is thoughtfully created and carefully executed, with the support of his culinary team.

 

     Dorothy Dowling

Dorothy Dowling is an experienced public company board director and C-Suite executive serving as CMO and Sr. VP of Sales. She has senior leadership experience in the hospitality, franchise, and storage industries and today as an independent consultant helps support hospitality industry clients with go-to-market strategies to help grow scale, revenue, and profitability with services ranging from repositioning to commercial business planning and activation.  Dowling also brings her subject matter expertise and personal passion regarding advocacy for women and other underrepresented groups.

Dowling has over 40 years of hospitality industry experience, most recently having spent the last 18 years as Global Chief Marketing Officer of Best Western where she directed all marketing and commercial strategies including loyalty, digital transformation, advertising, public relations, consumer, distribution and intermediary partnerships and the global sales organization.  Dowling’s experience of four decades of leadership spans the private, public, and non-profit sectors.

Dowling is a dual citizen of both Canada and the United States and has supported and developed commercial activities around the globe.  Throughout her journey, Dowling has always been a student of the game learning from subject matter experts wherever she has traveled to ensure she can bring optimum solutions that drive performance for partners and customers for both domestic and global activation opportunities.

Dowling serves as a board member and advisor for several organizations, including DEI Advisors, HSMAI, Stay Boutique, Commit Advertising Agency and WINiT by GBTA.  She also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for CubeSmart, a real estate investment trust and the third largest owner and operator of self-storage properties across the United States.  In her role as a public trustee, she also chairs the Compensation Committee and sits on the Governance Committee.

Dowling was recently honored with Lifetime Achievement awards from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) for her extraordinary commercial leadership, the NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference for her innovation and business performance, and GBTA WINiT for her trailblazing and leadership work advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in our industry. She was recognized in August 2022 as one of the top 100 Global Hospitality executives for her business acumen and ability to drive revenue, grow scale and improve business valuations. Dowling’s personal mantra is “relationships are the currency of life” and she has made lifelong investments in people and our industry.

Dowling holds an Honours BA and an MA from the University of Waterloo in Canada, has completed executive education at both Harvard and MIT and has recently completed post graduate D&I and ESG certifications through Cornell.

 

     Jenny Kang

Growing up on a farm, Chef Jenny has had the opportunity to observe harvest season from seed to bloom. This gave her an understanding of fresh food, real taste and knowledge of the nutrition behind foods that are freshly cooked and within season. All her past experiences have inspired Chef to strive to create a menu with quality, sustainability and locally grown ingredients for her guests. As Executive Chef and owner of Orchard, Chef Jenny curated a menu that incorporates classic Mediterranean flavours whilst combining elements of her upbringing in East Asia. This exploration enables Orchard to create a truly unique selection of dishes, combining and building upon the famed transcontinental trading route.

Before realizing her love for bringing people together through food, Chef Jenny had pursued a higher education in Environmental Engineering. It was through this program that the opportunity to come to Canada arose. Here she enrolled in the Culinary program at SAIT, graduating in 2007. After graduating, Chef Jenny worked in some of Calgary’s best restaurants. Her farming background and strong work ethic have informed her philosophy in her practices including sharing knowledge and skills with her team. Jenny’s classic, traditional and new cooking techniques are guaranteed to bring not only innovation to Calgary’s food scene but gratification to Orchard’s guests.

 

     Jessica Power-Cyr, M.Sc.

Jessica Power-Cyr, M.Sc. is a fitness and mind body coach, leading industry educator, programmer and public speaker. Jessica is passionate about people and loves nothing more than to see people succeed and live their lives with fulfillment. She is an advocate of life balance and creating meaningful life experiences. She brings a wealth of information, charisma and personality to each session making them fun and easy to learn from. You’ll never walk away bored from one of her session and you may learn something new or change your perspective on something old. Get ready to ‘Get Powered Up!’ in one of Jess’s sessions!

 

     Owen Stuart

Owen Stuart first started with the Terminal City Club in April of 2005 as a porter in the Banquet department. He found himself helping the bar teams during busy periods and became interested in learning more about wine, spirits, and cocktails. Owen worked his way up to lead bartender and then went on to become an Assistant Beverage Manager and eventually Club Beverage Manager in 2019. In his spare time he enjoys painting and going to the theatre.

 

     Tracey Zehl, FCA, FCPA, FEA

Tracey Zehl, FCA, FCPA, FEA is the Southern Alberta Managing Partner at Grant Thornton LLP and has over twenty five years of experience as a Chartered Professional Accountant providing assurance and business advisory services to clients in in the not-for-profit and private sectors.  She has extensive experience in financial reporting, governance, executive leadership, risk management and strategic planning. In 2018, Tracey received a Fellowship from CPA Alberta recognizing the exceptional service, honor and distinction she brings to the profession, community and charitable organizations.

Tracey works extensively in the community and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors (including Pension committee and past Audit and Finance committee member) of Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Limited, Calgary Stampede Casino (GP) Ltd. and Calgary Airport Authority (including Audit and Finance Committee).   She previously served on boards and various committees of Tourism Calgary, Rocky Mountain Equipment and Ronald McDonald House of Southern and Central Alberta.

Tracey has a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm.) with Distinction from the University of Calgary with a major in accounting.
