Calendar of Events

This Calendar of Events lists CMAC National events as well as Branch education programs which that can be attended by CMAC members across the country. To find more information on activities for your Branch and region, please refer to the Regional Branches section of the website or contact your Branch directly. 

Please note that to successfully register, you must complete the following steps: First, select your current member category; next, select the desired event package; lastly, click "Save & Continue" to fill out the registration form.

To register multiple people on the same invoice, register yourself first, then you will be given the option to add additional people. A separate registration form must be completed for each individual.

2021 National F&B Management Conference CMI - Member Communication

February 24, 2021 to February 26, 2021

12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

This workshop will focus on creating engaging content, effective use of email and social media tools as well as developing a strategic communications plan to drive revenue and retain members at clubs. 

Day 1: Create Engaging Content
Learn what topics and content are most engaging for members, above and beyond event announcements. Review best practices from clubs in Canada and the US.

Day 2: Email & Social Media Management
Review the elements of an effective email and how to schedule member emails with the most positive impact. Discover a few of the key features you should use and manage on the most popular social media channels. 

Day 3: Strategic Communication Planning
The last day will pull all that you’ve learned in Day 1 and Day 2 together and start using the content and communication plan to strategically plan your member communication.

Learning Objectives 
1. Craft content which is valuable and meaningful for your members, telling the story of your club. Discover appropriate content for current and prospective members
2. Improve the elements, structure, and timing of emails to members.
3. Incorporate all executive team members in the member communication process.

Key Messages 
1. Better utilize key features and analytics on your club’s social media channels.
2. Develop a content and communication plan.

Course Instructor

Shanna Bright began her career as a Member Relations Director at the City Club Los Angeles before spending time working in Asia, where she honed her digital communication skills. As the Founder of Private Clubs Online, Shanna has spoken with several CMAA Chapters across the United States, and has presented at national conferences for CMAA, ACCP (Association of Club Catering & Event Professionals) and PCMA (Professional Club Marketing Association). Shanna empowers private club professionals to drive revenue and retain members through strategic member communication.
