The Canadian Society of Club Managers to Recognize Leaders in Club Management at Annual Conference

TORONTO, Ontario (May 15, 2018) –  Professionals working in club management in Canada are invited to compete in the annual Canadian Club Management Awards hosted by the Canadian Society of Club Managers (CSCM). The awards honours members who have made a significant contribution to the Society and the profession of club management in Canada, supporting CSCM’s mission to offer top-notch education and networking opportunities for its members.

The competition recognizes the best in Canadian club management, recently minted Certified Club Managers and the leaders of tomorrow, culminating in an Awards Ceremony that will take place on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the CSCM National Conference in Halifax, NS. Entries opened today and will run with staggered deadlines up to Friday, August 17.

Individuals and/or clubs can enter in several categories including Club of the Year, Club Manager of the Year, Excellence in Teaching and Young Professional to name a few.

David Main, member of CSCM’s National Board of Directors and Chair of the Awards Committee remarked, “the CSCM delivers first-class educational and networking opportunities for our members. We are thrilled to showcase managers and clubs that have shown great leadership in the area of club management.”

Tom Schellenberg, winner of the Young Professional Award last year said, “I am extremely grateful for receiving the Young Professional Award and all of the support that the Members of the Canadian Society of Club Managers have provided me early on in my career in professional club management. I am proud to have been the inaugural recipient of this award and am forever indebted for the recognition it has given my career.”

Established in 1957, CSCM is the national professional society representing the club management profession in Canada. Of our approximately 600 members, over 70% are from golf clubs, and the remainder from a variety of city, recreation, fitness, curling and other types of clubs.
