Senior Coordinator, Events & Communications

We have an immediate opening for a talented, experienced, energetic and member-focused individual to join our team!

Position Overview 

Reporting to the Director, Professional Development, the Senior Coordinator, Events & Communications, will support the Association’s mission to develop, promote and support the profession of club management by providing networking and educational opportunities for our members.

The role will have a strong customer service/communications focus and will provide support for CMAC certification, awards, workshops and conferences. This includes, but is not limited to, the coordination of all aspects of planning and executing national events and conferences in conjunction with Branch planning committees. This position, with oversight from the Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for providing leadership and support in developing communications, providing timely and accurate information about CMAC membership, products and services. This position would suit an individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment and working on all aspects of a project, with detailed project management skills. The Senior Coordinator, Events & Communications is a natural relationship builder with a strong commitment to member service excellence and to being a valuable team player.

About You:

  • Minimum five years’ event management experience, ideally gained while working with a professional association  
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills for different types of media (print and electronic) with an eye for detail, design, content, and brand
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals at all levels internally as well as with external stakeholders in the communities
  • Experience with using social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, (and others) as well as Wikis and blogs
  • Outstanding interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience working and managing content management platforms (CMS) systems, website design software and programming languages and knowledge of internet protocols and services.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work as a team member, exercise discretion, and good judgment in dealing with confidential and/or controversial Association matters.
  • Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset 
  • CMP designation is desirable 
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required and travel for off-site conferences/events 
  • Understanding of the hospitality and/or club management industry desirable
