2017 Swing 'n Sweep

Monday, October 16, 2017

Host of the 2017 CP Women's Open

"Nestled among 225 sculptured and manicured acres of prime land just 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa, the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club is one of Ontario’s oldest golf and curling facilities.

Having proudly celebrated its centennial in 2008, the Hunt Club has weathered a Depression, two world wars, and a fire that razed the original clubhouse to earn the reputation as one of the premier private golf, curling, and social clubs in Canada. The Hunt Club is a four-season facility offering a 27-hole championship golf course that challenges all handicap levels and six sheets of ice that support a popular curling program for social and competitive curlers of all levels. In the renovated and handsomely furnished Clubhouse, members enjoy casual and fine dining, professional service, and a sense of community that has been a hallmark of the Club for over 100 years.."

"Swing 'n Sweep"

You have a choice: you can play 18 holes of golf or play just nine holes and then hit the ice and curl for two hours.
Participants will be bused to OHGC, departing the Hilton Lac Leamy
at approximately 11:30 a.m. for the 30 minute trip.  A buffet lunch will be served on arrival at the Club.

A 1:00 p.m. shotgun start will follow lunch.

The “shamble” format previously used has been well received and will be used again in 2017 although, if preferred as a foursome, you may play your own ball Under the shamble format, everyone tees off, you select the best / most appropriate drive, then everyone plays their own ball from that spot through completion of the hole.

Beginning at approximately 3:30 p.m., there will be thirty minutes of instruction before you play four ends of absolutely meaningless but totally fun curling.  Brooms and slip-on sliders for your shoes will be provided - you just need to bring your enthusiasm!  Additional information on suggested attire will be provided in advance of Conference.

A post-tournament cocktail reception will follow, at approximately 6:00 p.m..  At 7:00 p.m. you will be bused back to the Hilton Lac Leamy where you can do as you please: make it an early night, visit the casino, or head into downtown Ottawa.

Please note that a maximum of 110 for golf and 48 for curling will be accepted, on a first come-first served basis.

Registration includes transportation, lunch, golf / curling, golf carts. post-golf cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
