Buffalo Canoe Club

For over 125 years the Buffalo Canoe Club has been a summer haven for the area's sailing and beach families. Located on the Canadian shore of Lake Erie in Abino Bay, its tree lined banks and gently sloping beaches make the BCC the regions premier club. Sailing and sailboat racing continue to dominate on Abino Bay, and the BCC has been privileged to host a number of World, North American and National Championships for classes as diverse as the Lightning, Flying Dutchman and Shark. For the first time in many decades, our Club also hosted the LYRA Regatta and Freeman Cup, evidence of our growing PHRF and cruising fleets. Just recently, the BCC was announced as the sailing venue for the upcoming Canada Summer Games in 2021.

It's not surprising that Walt Disney Pictures chose Kanawaki as the venue for its 2005 film "The Greatest Game Ever Played", the story of Francis Ouimet.

Founded in 1919, the first Board of Directors purchased Liliwood Farms along the shore of Lake Rosseau. Stanley Thompson began construction in 1920 and the Course opened for play in 1922. Since then tennis, sailing, swimming and other water sports have been added to provide Members with a broad base of sporting activities. The Club continues to focus on the summer season with activities available from May to October.

The Royal Montreal Club

Royal Montreal is the oldest golf club in North America, having been founded in 1873. In that year, a small group of eight gentlemen sat in a dockside office and formed the Montreal Golf Club. Eleven years later, in 1884, permission was granted by Queen Victoria to use the "Royal" prefix.
